Insect Night Walk 2023!

by: Angel Haller

EGSA’s favorite annual tradition was a huge success for another year in a row! Previous attendees might notice we moved the location to our Wooster Science Building to accommodate visitors and provide an ease of access to all the fun, interactive and educational activities. Guests spent the evening of August 18th learning all about insect nightlife, pollinators, and the field of entomology. Kids had fun making insect antennae headbands, yarn spider webs, and cockroach "finger" painting art. People enjoyed petting fuzzy bumble bees and tasting honey straight from the honeycomb! Many people liked going on the nighttime insect light trap tours. We also greeted our guests with an event map and an interactive passport for kids to gather stamps at each activity. We provided a free beverage for all. We had EGSA merch for sale and hosted an entomology themed raffle to raise money for our graduate student association.

If you missed it this year, please stay tuned to join us next August for a unique experience for all bug lovers!
